Abstract
In his medical and scientific work, the outstanding Russian therapeutist V. Kh. Vasilenko paid great attention to the methodology of clinical diagnosis and prognosis. He formulated the basic rules of diagnosis, determined the sequence of doctor's actions in the diagnostic process, clarified the concepts of «symptom» and «syndrome» , defined the clinical prognosis and highlighted its phases, showed the form of information to the patient about his prognosis.
