Abstract
Postoperative ventral hernia is one of the most common pathologies in surgical practice. Despite the fact that the number of laparoscopic operations in abdominal surgery is growing, the use of traditional laparotomic access remains high, after which postoperative ventral hernias develop in 3–19% of cases. The presented article, using a clinical case as an example, demonstrates the effectiveness of eliminating a giant postoperative ventral hernia with a combination of abdominal wall separation techniques (endoscopic Ramirez and transverse abdominis muscle release (TAR)).
