Abstract

The clinical case of a patient participating in a special military operation who underwent orthotopic heart transplantation at the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC TIO named after V.I. Shumakov” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. This patient has secondary dilated cardiomyopathy accompanied by chronic heart failure, stage IIB according to the Vasilenko-Strazhesko classification, with severe physical activity restriction — NYHA functional class III. The presented case describes the successful integration of the military medical service with civilian healthcare institutions to provide high– tech medical care to a participant in a special military operation. The performed orthotopic heart transplantation using the bicaval method led to an improvement in the patient’s prognosis and quality of life.
