<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Infl ammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are common autoimmune diseases with gastrointestinal and extra-intestinal manifestations and complications. The most common infectious complication associated with IBD is infection with Clostridium diffi cile (C. diffi cile). Active IBD predisposes to C. diffi cile infection due to changes in the intestinal microbiome. C. diffi cile is a toxinproducing bacterium that leads to a worsening of the course of the main IBD, increasing the risk of ineff ective treatment of IBD, increased risk of hospitalization and surgery.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>воспалительные заболевания кишечника</kwd><kwd>язвенный колит</kwd><kwd>болезнь Крона</kwd><kwd>Clostridium diffi cile</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Infl ammatory bowel diseases</kwd><kwd>ulcerative colitis</kwd><kwd>Crohn’s disease</kwd><kwd>Clostridium diffi cile</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Sethi A.K., Al-Nassir W.N., Nerandzic M.M., Bobulsky G.S., Donskey C.J.
